Better things Clive Palmer could spend money on than getting one senator elected

Mining billionaire and political troublemaker Clive Palmer has restated his admirable commitment to wasting everyone’s time. Through gobfuls of Tim Tams, he told the National Press Club earlier this month that he planned to spend at least another $50 million on the coming election.

If he sticks to that, it will put his investment into politics at just more than $250 million over the past six years. One would think spending $206 million so far and getting nothing in return except Senator Ralph Babet would be reason enough for anyone to start questioning their fiscal choices, but here we are.
