Who is Daveigh Chase and what happened when she met Diddy?
As Diddy awaits his trial, a resurfaced video has showed him inviting a 12-year-old Daveigh Chase to an MTV Awards after-party in 2003.
The video surfaced around the same time reports emerged that 120 lawsuits accusing the mogul of sexual misconduct were set to be filed against him.
Since then, Diddy (Sean Combs), 55, has faced more torrents of lawsuits alleging sexual misconduct. He is now set to face trial next month, facing charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.
With the trial looming on May 5, we take a closer look at who Daveigh Chase is and what transpired when she crossed paths with Diddy.

Daveigh Chase is an American actress born in 1990. She’s best known for providing the voice of Lilo in the Disney-animated film Lilo & Stitch, as well as voicing Chihiro Ogino in the English dub of the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Away.
Most recently, she starred in Jack Goes Home (2016), American Romance (2016), and Rings (2017).
What happened when Chase met Diddy?
In the resurfaced clip, Chase, who was just 12 at the time, is approached by Combs backstage at the 2003 MTV Movie Awards.
In the clip, he asks whether she is “coming to the after-party tonight”. Chase nods before Combs bursts into laughter and says: “Yeah!”
Around the time that the video reemerged, fans shared their outrage on social media.
Commenting on the video, people wrote of their “disgust” and observed that Diddy had made Chase “uncomfortable”. Some argued that the interaction was being treated with bias given what we now know about allegations against Diddy. Others questioned where her parents were and why they had not intervened.
What is Daveigh Chase up to now?
Chase’s last movie was in 2017 and for the most part, she has stepped out of the limelight.
She has had some brush-ups with the law, however. In August 2018, she was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance, for which she spent two hours in jail before being released on a $1,000 bond. Later that same year, she was charged with two misdemeanor charges – one for possession of a controlled substance without a valid prescription and one for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Prior to that, in 2017, she had been charged with a felony for driving a stolen car. Around ten months earlier, Chase was detained after allegedly leaving a dying man in a car outside a hospital, according to The Daily Mail. However, she was not named a suspect in the case following the death of the man.
